Suno fights expansion of label copyright case
Music Business Worldwide reports that Suno asked a Massachusetts federal court to stop UMG and Sony from adding 61,026 recordings to their copyright lawsuit. Suno cited a New York judge’s refusal to let Sony add 30,442 works to a parallel Udio case. The court had not ruled on Suno’s request when reported, so this is a procedural dispute—not a decision on whether AI training is fair use.

Music groups propose shared labels for AI-generated recordings
RIAA, IFPI, A2IM, WIN, IMPALA, the Recording Academy, SAG-AFTRA and the Human Artistry Campaign proposed voluntary track-level labels separating “AI-Generated” recordings from “AI-Assisted” work. The scheme is intended for streaming services and other partners, with icons backed by metadata. For creators and distributors, it offers a clearer disclosure vocabulary, but adoption is still voluntary and implementation is expected later.

Mureka adds music transcription and soundtrack timing controls
Mureka updated its API with a new Music Transcription endpoint, start and end controls for soundtrack generation, and an enhanced lyrics-generation model. The July 9 changelog groups the additions as one API and model update, but does not publish benchmark results or quantify the lyrics model’s improvement. For developers, the release adds a new analysis workflow and finer timing control when generating music for existing media.
Suno updated its web lyrics editor with reusable “Lyricist” examples, natural-language rewriting, rhyme and line suggestions, a full-screen workspace, song-structure labels and autosave. The company presents the release as a faster way to draft and iterate before generation. For creators, the practical change is more control over words and structure inside Suno, with less need to write elsewhere and paste revisions back.

ElevenMusic adds four task-focused creation tools
ElevenLabs added four focused workflows to ElevenMusic. Voice to Song builds an arranged track from a rough vocal; Loop Studio creates repeatable instrumental loops; Genreshift rebuilds a finished track in another genre; and Unplugged produces an acoustic version. For creators, the release packages common transformation jobs into guided tools instead of requiring a new full-song prompt for every edit.

Sonauto rebrands as Treblo and moves its API domain
Sonauto renamed itself Treblo and moved the service to treblo.com while keeping existing accounts, songs and shared links intact. The company says old Sonauto links still redirect, but developers should move integrations from api.sonauto.ai to api.treblo.com; the old API host remains available for now. For users, the change is mostly a brand and domain migration, while API customers have a concrete endpoint update to plan.
