Splice launched Create in beta for macOS, combining a digital audio workstation with more than three million licensed samples and the Rheo AI assistant. Rheo can take text or voice commands to carry out production tasks or point users to the relevant controls. The app is free to use, while exporting and sample licensing require a paid plan.
Avid has added AI stem separation to Pro Tools 2026.11 through a new Extension that can split recordings into as many as six parts: vocals, drums, bass, guitar, keys and other instruments. Users can preview separated audio and return the stems to the main session as individual tracks. The release makes the feature available across Pro Tools tiers.
Suno added MIDI uploads to its Create page for Pro and Premier subscribers. Users can drop in .mid or .midi files, then use natural-language instructions to preserve, develop, or re-instrument the notes. At launch, the workflow runs in Simple Create with the v6-wild model. The change gives musicians a more precise, note-based starting point than text prompts or recorded audio, while widening MIDI access beyond the Premier-only Studio workflow.
Soundverse introduced Audio to JS, an AI tool that analyzes a short sound and produces downloadable JavaScript code designed to recreate it. Users can compare the generated version with the source and adjust settings such as pitch, brightness, reverb, drive, and decay. Available to every account through AI Tools, the feature extends Soundverse beyond music generation into reusable, code-based sound design for apps and interactive projects.
Suno introduced a beta Model Context Protocol connector that lets users create, extend, cover, or remix songs from supported AI assistants including ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. The connector is available through an early-access signup on all Suno plans, uses the user’s existing credits, and saves generated tracks to their Suno library; Suno’s separate developer API remains in beta.
Thoughtful Things launched a Kickstarter campaign for Engram, its first instrument, combining a sampler and groovebox with AI that reshapes incoming audio and generates new sounds. Unlike prompt-to-song services aimed at finished tracks, Engram is designed for hands-on experimentation with unusual textures, giving musicians a hardware-based way to explore generative sound rather than automate an entire song.
