Mubert launches Cast for transcript-led podcast editing
Mubert launched Cast, an audio-first podcast editor that combines transcript-based cuts, voice cleanup, chaptering, generated music, automatic ducking and sound effects. The product exports platform-normalized audio, and paid plans can also export stems; Mubert says its generated music is licensed for use under the applicable plan. For podcasters, the update reduces the need to move between a transcript editor, audio cleaner, music library and DAW.
Reports link a past Suno breach to training-data details
404 Media reported that a hacker shared legacy Suno code and data describing the collection of music, lyrics and podcasts used for training. PC Gamer quoted Suno saying the limited incident occurred in 2025, involved outdated code, was contained and did not compromise sensitive personal information. The reporting adds detail to an existing training-data dispute, but the underlying files came through an unauthorized breach and should be treated as reported claims.

Suno brings song creation into iMessage
Suno added an iMessage keyboard extension for iOS. Users can record a voice or type lyrics, choose styles, generate a song and send it in a conversation; recipients can listen and reply with another generated song. The release does not change Suno’s music model, but it moves creation and sharing into a familiar messaging workflow, lowering the friction for quick, social song-making on mobile.

Suno fights expansion of label copyright case
Music Business Worldwide reports that Suno asked a Massachusetts federal court to stop UMG and Sony from adding 61,026 recordings to their copyright lawsuit. Suno cited a New York judge’s refusal to let Sony add 30,442 works to a parallel Udio case. The court had not ruled on Suno’s request when reported, so this is a procedural dispute—not a decision on whether AI training is fair use.

Music groups propose shared labels for AI-generated recordings
RIAA, IFPI, A2IM, WIN, IMPALA, the Recording Academy, SAG-AFTRA and the Human Artistry Campaign proposed voluntary track-level labels separating “AI-Generated” recordings from “AI-Assisted” work. The scheme is intended for streaming services and other partners, with icons backed by metadata. For creators and distributors, it offers a clearer disclosure vocabulary, but adoption is still voluntary and implementation is expected later.

Mureka adds music transcription and soundtrack timing controls
Mureka updated its API with a new Music Transcription endpoint, start and end controls for soundtrack generation, and an enhanced lyrics-generation model. The July 9 changelog groups the additions as one API and model update, but does not publish benchmark results or quantify the lyrics model’s improvement. For developers, the release adds a new analysis workflow and finer timing control when generating music for existing media.
